Leisure
SNAAP
Activities include: Family Days Out – we understand that it is often difficult to go to a public place when you have a disabled child so we provide a range of different days out to suit all abilities. Days can include the beach, Wildwood, Diggerland, Ice Skating or skiing. Where possible activities can be adapted and include changing facilities. These days offer support from SNAAP staff and give you the opportunity to meet up with other families.
Buzz Club – for children aged 8-13 with less complex needs, these sessions offer a creative, safe fun environment.
Chill – for young people aged 14-25 with less complex needs, sessions are usually held in the local community with the young people choosing where to go and what to do. Includes travel training, eating out and volunteer opportunity in the local community. The emphasis is on increasing self-esteem and confidence while enhancing social and communication skills.
For more information, contact us on: 01227 367555 or email: clubs@snaap.org.uk Cinemas
Many cinemas offer accessible friendly showings of films. Support can include:
• audio description
• autism friendly screenings
• subtitles
• wheelchair access.
Contact your local cinema to learn how they can help. Or, visit their accessibility pages on their websites.
