Form 1

Embarking on an entrepreneurial journey, the enthusiastic pupils of Form 1 have embarked on a dynamic mini-enterprise project centred around the age-old service of car washing. With a dual purpose in mind - both to hone their business acumen and to contribute to the larger school community - these young innovators have taken the initiative to generate funds for the 6th form through their industrious efforts. Equipped with determination and resourcefulness, they've procured all the necessary supplies and equipment essential for a top-notch car wash operation. Armed with buckets, sponges, soap, and elbow grease, they set out weekly to transform dusty vehicles into gleaming symbols of their dedication and hard work. Beyond the simple act of washing cars, this venture serves as a practical lesson in teamwork, responsibility, and financial management. Each wash not only results in a sparkling clean vehicle but also contributes to the collective goal of supporting their fellow students in the 6th form.

Form 2:

The pupils in form 2 are making excellent progress in their journey planning and practical life skills! They’re demonstrating a good understanding of pedestrian safety, including navigating busy areas and recognising potential risks with traffic lights and crossings. In terms of numeracy, their ability to solve money problems involving addition and subtraction up to £10 is impressive. Additionally, using a bank card for shopping with verbal prompts shows a practical application of their skills.

Congratulations to Leo Turner on his outstanding achievement! Securing a place on the 16-19 volunteer program at East Kent Hospitals Trust is a testament to his dedication and capabilities. Leo's accomplishment is even more remarkable as he is the first non-grammar school pupil to achieve this milestone. His success not only reflects his individual talent but also highlights the diversity and inclusivity of opportunities available to all students. Well done, Leo!

Fantastic news about the success of the Mini Enterprise projects at the 6th form! Raising £250 with the pasta shell Christmas tree ornaments is impressive. Now, shifting gears to car washing sounds like a promising venture, especially knowing that the proceeds will be reinvested into the sixth form based on ideas from the student council. It's wonderful to see students actively involved in entrepreneurial activities that not only generate funds but also empower them to contribute to the improvement of their own learning environment. Keep up the great work!

In form 3 the students cookery recipe selections sound delicious and varied! From macaroni cheese with garlic bread to chocolate fudge cake, they are exploring a diverse range of dishes that will surely keep them engaged and excited in the kitchen. The combination of sweet and savoury options offers a well-rounded culinary experience whilst working on those important skills for life. As for PE activities, daily walks and cycling along the riverside in Toddler’s Cove is a fantastic way to promote physical activity and outdoor exploration.

Throughout this term, the diligent pupils of Form 4 have delved into the realm of home management, honing an array of essential life skills to navigate domestic duties with finesse. From mastering the art of crisp ironing to executing precise sweeping and meticulous hoovering techniques, they have embraced the responsibilities of maintaining a tidy and organized living space. In the culinary realm, they've donned their aprons and ventured into the kitchen, cultivating their culinary prowess through hands-on cooking sessions, where they've whipped up delectable dishes from scratch. Additionally, their green thumbs have flourished as they've immersed themselves in the intricacies of gardening, nurturing plants with care and watching them thrive under their attentive stewardship. Through this comprehensive exploration of home management, these students have not only acquired practical skills but have also cultivated a deep sense of responsibility and pride in caring for their homes and surroundings.
