OZZIE’S NEWS – 14.2.20

WEDNESDAY WORD – “ TEACHER ” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. ROBINWOOD – OUR INTREPID ADVENTURERS HAVE RETURNED! Our Y6 have all returned, safe and sound, from Robinwood where they proved to be the bravest group ever! The teamwork they showed and the way they supported each other was wonderful and has been commented upon by our staff and the staff at Robinwood. There are lots of photographs and video clips on Twitter. The children celebrated their trip further with an assembly this afternoon for their families. PTA COPPER CHALLENGE Thank you so much for the generous donations. After breaking the machine at the bank at the first attempt of counting (oops!) the total raised was a magnificent £354.02. Owls were the winning class raising £85.29. They have won an ice cream and an extra play. Starlings were 2nd and Wagtails 3rd. They will receive a sweet treat. GUITAR RECITAL Well done to the Y4s who performed a wonderful concert for their families and showed off their guitar playing and singing skills. TREAD UK – LOWER KS2 This week the children used natural materials to make a candle on a wooden holder. INVENTORS’ CLUB Our inventors made motorized bugs this week which they will be taking home after half term. GOVERNOR VISIT Deacon Paul spent an afternoon in EYFS talking to the

pupils and role playing about the Mass. MATHS ROADSHOW We were represented by some of our Y5 pupils at St Edmund Arrowsmith where they took part in maths challenges and came a creditable 3rd overall. Well done to Eve, Pearl, Scarlett, Milo, Matthew, Christopher, Ruby and Oscar. TUCKSHOP The children have, once again, enjoyed their half termly treat of a tuckshop run by the PTA today. Y3/Y4 AFTER SCHOOL TENNIS Please note that there is no club on Monday 24th February. The club restarts on Monday 2nd March. TOAST Toast for the next half term will cost £8.70- payable on the first day back please. CARE,LOVE, LEARN at St Oswald’s Our holiday club is running Monday to Friday of half term from 7.30am to 6pm. There are lots of exciting activities planned and breakfast and tea are included. Contact info is on our website HAPPY HOLIDAY Thank you to everyone in our school community for working so hard this half term. We appreciate all the support our families give school. We hope you all have a lovely break and look forward to seeing you back at 8.50am on Monday 24th February.
