WEDNESDAY WORD – “LENT” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. IT’S A BOY! Mrs and Mr Atherton announced the birth of their baby boy, Austin Edward, last week. He was 6lbs 7oz born and he is absolutely gorgeous. Both Mrs Atherton and Austin are doing really well. Welcome to the Ozzies’ family little Austin. KS2 PUPILS RECEIVED ASHES On Wednesday, Y5 and Y6 went over to church to receive ashes from Father John and Deacon Jim. Y3 and Y4 also received ashes in school. The children who went over to mass were all well behaved. The theme of our collective worships has been Lent this week and the children have reflected on perseverance and have considered how they can pray, give something up or change a behaviour and do good for other people throughout Lent. EXCITING EVENTS ON THE BACK FIELD We received a long-awaited and wished for delivery this week – tyres, wooden poles, ropes for example. The workmen have been busy on the back field in spite of the snow and hail at times. The children will be able to access the PTA funded trim trail very soon. Exciting times ahead for our children! Thank you for anything that you’ve contributed over the last few years to the PTA. The dream is now becoming a reality. JONNY THE NINJA WARRIOR CHAMPION CAME BACK! We welcomed back Jonny Urszuly, the winner of Ninja Warrior UK

and Wendy this week. Wendy talked to the children about how to have a growth mindset and not a fixed mindset in order to succeed in life. The children saw some of the incredible skills that Jonny had worked hard to achieve and they got to work with Jonny and Wendy on our very own Ninja Warrior assault course. Pictures are on Twitter and Flickr. INVENTORS’ CLUB This week, our inventors were working on robot bugs and random magnets. TREAD UK – LOWER KS2 This week, the children designed their own bugs.
