WEDNESDAY WORD – “PREPARATION” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. ASHTON LIGHTS SWITCH ON Our choir will be performing tonight at 5:20 p.m. at the lights switch on. Come along and support the community as it promises to be a great evening. The event starts at 5 p.m. and there are lots of exciting activities and stalls to visit. Our choir have also been asked to perform at the Canon’s Hall next Friday for the SOCHDOC Christmas tea party. CHRISTMAS CONCERTS Our Christmas concerts will continue next week with the Sparrows, Owls and Eagles and Owlets and Eaglets who will be concluding this year’s nativities. The concerts so far have been really well received and highly praised. Thank you for your donations for school fund, and thank you to the PTA who have organised for tea and coffee to be available. ST. OSWALD’S CHRISTMAS FAIR This takes place on Thursday 13th December from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. All money raised will be for school fund and will be spent directly on resources for the children. The children have been busy creating items to sell. All cake donations welcome. WIGAN MUSIC CONCERT Well done to Daniel Williamson, Ruby Turnock, Macaulay Jones and Claudia Beaney who took part in the Wigan Music Service Christmas Concert at Hope
Academy this week. They all performed exceptionally well. NUGENT CARE TOYS – THANK YOU If you can still provide a toy for us to take to Liverpool Cathedral for Nugent Care, that would be brilliant. Our, “Faith In Action,” group will be attending the Advent Service on Wednesday 12th December in the afternoon next week. OPEN MORNING Our open morning for September 2019 Newstarters was a success. If you know of anybody else who would be interested in having a look around our school, we welcome pupils of all faiths and none, please ask them to call the school office and arrange a time to meet with us. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY All pupils can wear their school uniform with a Christmas jumper replacing their school jumper / cardigan on Thursday 13th December. This is also Christmas Dinner day for the pupils. CHRISTMAS PARTY DAY You’ve received a letter this week about our Christmas Party day which is on Tuesday 18th December. Children can wear their own clothes. The school council have suggested ideas for party food and we have also spoken to our children who have allergies so that we can cater for everyone.
