WEDNESDAY WORD – “HOPE” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. R.E. INSPECTION This week we had our R.E. inspection. The children conducted themselves brilliantly and really impressed the inspectors with their fantastic attitude and behaviour. The staff were great too. We’ll let you know the outcome as soon as we can. ST. OSWALD’S OPEN MORNING We are hosting an open morning for any Newstarter parents and children, who are due to start school in September 2019. Please tell anyone that you know with a child due to start in September 2019, that we accept and welcome pupils of all faiths or none. This event will be held on Thursday 6th December, 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Y5/Y6 LIVERPOOL MUSEUM TRIP All Y5/Y6 classes have visited Liverpool Museum this week to help with their knowledge and understanding of slavery. BINGOSINGALONG We’ve had a lovely afternoon welcoming our grandparents and parishioners to school for bingo, mince pies, cups of tea and festive singing from our choir. Thank you for your donations. We’ve been able to give some great prizes out today. JUDO DEMONSTRATION The children completed their 5 week Judo course with Anthony from Judo Education by demonstrating their new skills.
Anthony will be returning to school later in the year to run a fencing club. Information will be available in due course. CHRISTMAS CONCERTS Our Christmas concerts start next week with the Blackbirds and Starlings getting us in the festive spirit on Wednesday. Thank you for the costumes and support with learning lines. DT MORNING All of the children will be involved in design and technology mornings next Monday and Tuesday, to prepare their items for selling at the Christmas Fair. This takes place on Thursday 13th December from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. All money raised will be for school fund and will be spent directly on resources for the children. BRAND NEW TOYS NEEDED On Wednesday 12th December, some of the children will be going to Liverpool Cathedral to an Advent service. They will be taking with them toys for Nugent Care. If you could add an extra gift into your shopping for the collection or you find an unwanted, brand new gift during the pre-Christmas clear out, please send it into school for this worthwhile charity. Thank you to those who have donated already. CHRISTMAS DISCOS Further information on our Christmas discos is on the other side of this newsletter.
