WEDNESDAY WORD – “LEADER.” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. R.E. INSPECTION We have got some special visitors in school on Tuesday 27th November. They are coming to look at our R.E. provision. Thank you for returning your parent questionnaires. Our Y2 and Y6 pupils have also completed questionnaires regarding their views on R.E. in school. ST. OSWALD’S OPEN MORNING We are hosting an open morning for any Newstarter parents and children, who are due to start school in September 2019. Please tell anyone that you know with a child due to start in September 2019, that we accept and welcome pupils of all faiths or none. This event will be held on Thursday 6th December, 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Y3/Y4 BOLTON MUSEUM TRIP All Y3/Y4 classes have visited Bolton Museum this week to launch their new topic on the Ancient Egyptians. Lucas Tabern said, “I thought it was a brilliant day because I learned loads of facts about Ancient Egypt.” MATHS CHALLENGE Congratulations to Charlotte Dunne, Thomas Earley, Poppy O’Donoghue and Jordan Daley who represented school in a Maths challenge at St. Edmund Arrowsmith against other schools. The challenges were very tough and the children did brilliantly! BINGOSINGALONG
Our Bingosingalong event is on Friday 30th November at 1:30 p.m. Grandparents and parishioners are all welcome to come for a free afternoon of Bingo, tea, coffee, mince pies and singing from the choir. FOOD AND SOAP DONATIONS NEEDED Thank you for your donations so far. Please could we ask for toiletries and food donations to continue coming in for the Bingosingalong hampers. KS2 SCIENCE AFTERNOON This week, KS2 have had their Science afternoon and they have been working on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities. This area is one of our priorities in school for 2018/19 and our pupils have enjoyed designing and making products. This has made them think about skills they need to use. WINTER’S COMING / HERE Please could you ensure your child has a black or blue coat in school with their name in it. Our lost property is building up again as some clothing has no name in and we can’t return it to its rightful owner. Hats, gloves and scarfs also need to be named please. NEW WATER MACHINES The PTA have bought 3 new water machines for the benefit of the children. These are situated around school. Please ensure your child has their
