Year 2 Autumn 2 Homework Homework at St. John’s is changing. We are hoping that this will give children and families more flexibility regarding when homework is handed in and also give children the opportunity to enjoy learning through the wider curriculum. Here is the homework for this half term: READING - EVERY night for a minimum of 15 minutes. Please use the questions in the Reading Book Bands guide we sent home to encourage your child to explain their understanding of what they have read. Comprehension is an important reading skill in Year 2 and one that will be assessed at the end of the year. Children should have their reading journal in school every day. SPELLING – each Friday there will be a spelling test using the weekly spellings below. MATHS - Practice the numbers bonds at the back of the reading journal for weekly ’25 club’ tests. (NB these do not need to be handed in) See the mymaths website for the homework. HOMEWORK PROJECT – See below for the 6 activities that make up this half term’s homework project. They need to be completed and handed in on or before Friday 7th December 2018. These activities can be done in any order. On the homework hand in day, all the children will have the chance to share their work with the class. We look forward to their amazing work!
