NEWSLETTER KEY DATES January 31st - PTA meeting 7pm at the Spread Eagle in Chorlton FEBRUARY 5th - Safer Internet Day

GREATER DEBATER On Friday 25th January, St. John’s hosted a debate session involving our Y6 children. Y6 children from Chorlton C of E School visited our school with their teachers to watch a planned debate – the topic being: ‘Should cars be banned in Chorlton?’. At the end of the debate, the children who opposed the idea of cars being banned were victorious! Everyone enjoyed the debate with lots of interesting discussions for and against being put forward. Our local councillor, Eve Holt was in attendance and was enormously impressed by the quality of our debater’s arguments. Our Year 6 children hope to support the work of the local community by looking at air pollution in the our area.

STAFF NEWS Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Kehoe at the half term holiday. She has a new job working with the Open University. Mrs Kehoe has worked at St. John’s for 25 years and has brought something very special to our community. She will be very much missed and we wish her all the best. Mrs Donnelly went to have her baby last Summer and has decided not to return to work but to look after Rupert full time. Again, we would like to thank her for her hard work at St. John’s.
