 We set ambitious standards for the children to read accurately and fluently.

 Children will read three times weekly in school with a focus on: decoding, prosody and comprehension.

 Please aim to read with your child at home and sign their reading record to indicate this.

Accelerated Reader

 Children who have exited the Little Wandle programme and are exhibiting fluency will complete a Star Reading Assessment.

 The assessment will give the children a ZPD range. This will ensure the children are reading a book closely matched to their reading level.

 Children are able to complete ‘quizzes’ as often as they like, once they have finished reading the book at home.
