Odysseus: Hero or Fool?
Our project this term is Odysseus: Hero or Fool? The project is based on the book ‘The Adventures of Odysseus’ by Hugh Lupton and Daniel Morden. We will be looking at the adventures of Odysseus and whether his actions were heroic or foolish. As part of the project we will work as historians to discover characteristic features of Ancient Greece, including ideas, beliefs, attitudes and experiences of men, women and children. We will be looking at the geography of the area and how the landscape affected the way of life. We will be plotting key areas from the story on a map.
Through ‘Power of Reading’ we will use The Adventures of Odysseus to write letters in role of a character. We will then write a narrative.
We will hold an Exhibition of Beautiful Work. Children will learn songs linked to the topic and perform these at the Exhibition.
