Attendance and Safeguarding
Student health and wellbeing is of paramount importance. Students have access to the following support at school;
• A tutor who will be a daily point of contact to lead their progress and wellbeing for their time at Poole High
• A Head of Year who will direct pastoral care
• A Progress Leader who will direct academic progress and support school attendance
• Mentoring and access to a Pastoral Support Worker
• Access to Academic Counselling
• Support with Mental Health from our dedicated Pastoral Officers and the Mental Health School Team
• Leadership in all areas of Safeguarding from:

Year 7 Welcome Evening Autumn Term 2024
We will ask your child to:
• Take you for a tour around their new school
• Introduce you to their tutor and teachers
• Train you to self-quiz
• Show you how much they have learnt in such a small amount of time

Please wear your normal school uniform and trainers. Please bring a named refillable water bottle, small snack (if required) and writing equipment. We recommend bringing a bag so that they can store everything safely and bring home their summer homework.
Any medication must be clearly labelled with signed instructions and be handed in to reception at the start of the day. Inhalers may be kept in their bag. Food will be provided at lunch time. Please ask if you are vegetarian, vegan or have allergies, we have alternatives.

Please note: the school drive will NOT be available for drivers from 8.10 am until 8.55 am or at the end of the school day from 2.20pm until 3.15pm.
You may make use of the Stadium car park to drop off and pick up your child on transition day. You will then need to walk around the front of the police station. Ideally please avoid driving, queues tend to be long.
Students will be collected from reception and led to the theatre.
Please ensure that your child knows how they are getting home.

Start time 8.25am, finish time 2.55pm.
Only years 7 and 12 will be in school on this day.
School photographs will be taken on the first day.
