Free travel for carers “Accessible transport means that people we support can get to college or work, the doctor, to visit family and friend's or to enjoy social and leisure activities - public transport can transform a person's life.

But if a person needs support to access transport and that support comes with an additional cost then it stops being accessible.

Free travel for carers Why we need it!

Many people with additional needs can not use public transport without help from somebody else.

The cost They have to pay for their carers ticket This means they don’t get free travel at all If they have two carers they actually have to pay twice
