Odd Socks for Anti Bullying Week

HSE Visit On Wednesday, we were randomly selected to have a Health and Safety Executive on-site inspection to look at our COVID control measures and compliance, this is a countrywide government initiative. We are delighted to inform you that we got the highest rating in all areas inspected with no recommendations given for any improvements.

We do hope this reassures you that we are doing all we can to make sure we keep our children and our community safe during this challenging time.

Anti-Bullying Week - Odd Socks All Week Next week we would love all students to wear ODD SOCKS all week to celebrate individuality.

It is an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique. The children will be taking part in activities all week around the theme of ‘United Against Bullying’.

Where the Poppies Now Grow Year 2 are learning about Remembrance and World War 1 in their history lessons this half term. As part of this work, they have made poppy suncatchers and painted poppy fields as well as writing and recording descriptions of the fields where the poppies now grow. Greek House’s Non Uniform Day The GREEKS won the most team points last half term and will have a non uniform day on Friday 20 November. If you are unsure which House your child is in, please let us know.

Children In Need Non Uniform Donations Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to our Children in Need collection. So far we have collected an amazing £203, thank you for your generosity. Return of School Photograph Orders Please remember that the deadline for photograph orders is Monday 23 November for the rest of the school. Ideally, please place your orders online or, if you are unable to do this, you can return your orders to school by Friday 20 November so that they are ready for collection by the photographer on Monday 23 November.

Park Road’s Virtual Open Days As you will appreciate, it has not been possible for us to hold our usual Open Days for the pupils starting school in September 2021, which has meant that we have had to adapt accordingly and have developed our ’Virtual’ Open Days with as much information as possible on our website.

Mrs Parkinson and Mrs Jenkins have also hosted two live Virtual Open Days.

If you or anyone you know has a child starting school in September 2021 and have missed these events, please do let us know as we are happy to host more events in the future. Hot Chocolate and Cake Each week, the Midday Assistants select children for their good manners and for displaying school values at lunchtime to join Mrs Parkinson for hot chocolate and cake.

Mrs Parkinson loves meeting the children and chatting with them while they enjoy their treats but unfortunately, she is not able to do this due to distancing guidelines so instead of joining Mrs Parkinson in her office, we are sending a hot chocolate and cake pack home with your child for them to enjoy at their leisure!

10th Warrington Scouts Plant Sale

Trek to Lapland Update Our Trek to Lapland has started! Children have all received a trek tracker and there will be a large tracker in the classrooms to record their distances so that we can make sure we are on course to hit 263 miles per group!

Non Uniform Day in Exchange for a ‘Festive Themed Item’ There will be a PFA Non-Uniform Day on Friday 27 November where children can choose to come in their own clothes in exchange for a "festive themed item" such as chocolates, wine, crackers (cream cracker type and the pulling kind) etc...

Gin Gift Boxes The PFA will be selling these lovely Gin Gift boxes. If you are thinking of holding a virtual Gin Night over the festive period then these will be the ideal purchase or alternatively they would make a lovely gift at the bargain price of £20 each - all profits made will go directly to Park Road PFA. You can pre order now and the last day for orders is Friday 27 November (payment is required at time of ordering). The items will be delivered w/c 7 December. There is a choice of tonic or lemonade mixers in the boxes. If you wish to place an order, please email Kelly at kellyhpfa@gmail.com with your requirements, she will then provide a reference number and the bank details so that you can transfer the money directly.

Christmas Cards With Your Child’s Drawing This year we have changed the company that we use to produce the Christmas cards containing a picture made by your child. Children designed their Christmas cards and they were sent directly to the Christmas card company. The proofs are now available to view via an online portal and full details on how to access this will be posted on Seesaw. You can place orders and pay online with direct to door shipping!

Harvest Donation Thanks We have received a lovely thank you from the group who received our Harvest collection (please see this image) The group supports our local community and we asked if there is anything that they still need and they have given the following ‘wish list’ so if you would like to donate any of these items, please drop them into our trolley and we will pass them on: • single Christmas puddings • single/small Christmas cake • small treats • chocolates • edible crackers • small jars of chutney • boxes of Christmas (pull) crackers to split down and put into hampers If you would like to follow the group on Facebook, please search for GOOD NEIGHBOURS WA5 - Great Sankey, Penketh, Westbrook and Burtonwood.
