They are also playing with school equipment, which could result in damage. Please could we respectfully ask that you fully supervise your younger children whist on the school grounds. We wouldn’t want your child to get hurt on the school site so we hope we can all work together to ensure that everyone stays safe and school property is protected. Thank you.

30 years ago, on 30 April 1993, Swiss science company CERN opened up the World Wide Web to the world, free of charge. The ‘collaborative information system’ was being used by the scientists at CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research) to communicate, without delay, across countries and continents but deciding that there could be wider uses for the tool, they made it available for everyone.

As a 37 year old computer scientist, Tim Berners-Lee from London, proposed a system of pages of information (now known as websites) that could be accessed from anywhere in the world. The decision to put the Web in the public domain in 1993 allowed the network to become what it is today. Since then, over 1 billion websites have been created - but only around 200 million are actively working today.

Things to talk about at home:

* How often do you access websites online? Are there any particular sites that are your favourites? What about others in your home?

* Talk to someone older, who can remember a time before people had access to the World Wide Web. Ask them how things were different.

A message was sent out today on Seesaw asking for help looking after our chickens and guinea pigs at weekends and over the holidays. There is a link to a form in the message where you can select the dates that you are able to help (there is a box where you can fill in dates that you can help if they don’t coincide with the dates shown).

Full training will be given if you haven’t done it before and you can keep any eggs laid during that time.

Thank you to all of our volunteers - we really appreciate your help!
