Non-Uniform Day for Comic Relief (min £1 payment via Parentpay)

Welcome Back It has been lovely welcoming the children back into school and we are very proud of how quickly they have all settled into their classroom routines and adapted to school life.

Thank you to parents and carers for arriving promptly at pick up and drop off times and for adhering to our one-way systems. Mrs Parkinson and Mr Finch have loved seeing everyone again in the mornings despite the rain and wind!

Attendance Matters We are delighted that we had 100% attendance on the first day back. Regular school attendance is an important part of giving you the best possible start in life. Pupils who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in exams. Children have worked hard at home completing their education remotely and we are keen to ensure we can consolidate their learning and ensure they have the best opportunity to succeed and the foundation to this is their attendance.

This table shows how the percentage attendance equates to the amount of school time missed.

It is not only the number of days in school that matters but Every Minute Counts: If you arrive late to school everyday your child’s learning begins to suffer. This graph shows how being late to school everyday over a school year adds up to lost learning time.

Comic Relief Non-Uniform Day Friday 19 March On Friday 19 March, we will be supporting Red Nose Day by holding a non-uniform day where your child can come into school wearing red or a Disney themed outfit. The donations will be made directly to Comic Relief through the Parentpay payments. Please use the link below to make a minimum donation of £1 if your child is taking part, if they do not wish to take part, they should come to school in their uniform as usual.

Hot Chocolate and Cake Hot Chocolate and Cake will be restarting again next week. The Midday Assistants select children for their good manners and for displaying school values at lunchtime to join Mrs Parkinson for hot chocolate and cake. Mrs Parkinson loves meeting the children and chatting with them while they enjoy their treats but unfortunately, she is not able to do this due to distancing guidelines so instead of joining Mrs Parkinson in her office, we are sending a hot chocolate and cake pack home with your child for them to enjoy at their leisure!

Parentpay Please can we ask for your help in ensuring that Parentpay accounts are topped up before a child takes a meal or snack at school. This week there has been a high number of accounts where money is owed to school. School meals are £2.40 and snacks are 25p per item (except for milk that is 18p). We do understand that it will take time to readjust to the usual school routines and if money is owed on your child’s account, we will send a reminder on Seesaw. Please let us know if there are any problems so we can help to resolve them.
