Important Covid Reminder Please remember that if anyone in your household has Covid symptoms (cough, high temperature or loss of taste/smell), the person with symptoms MUST go for a test. The whole household MUST self isolate until you receive a result. If it is a child in our school who has a sibling, their sibling MUST NOT come to school.

If the result is negative, your child, if they are well enough, and any sibling will be able to return to school.

North Pole Run Wednesday 2 December Please see the PFA’s page with details of the Trek to Lapland event and a request to return all miles travelled forms, sponsor forms and sponsor money to the class teacher on Monday 30 November.

It is also important that if anyone has ANY one of the symptoms, they must go for a test. We have been advised by Public Health England that there should not be an assumption that if a child has temperature together with non-Covid symptoms that it isn’t Covid. We do understand how difficult or inconvenient this may be but it is so important that we are as cautious as we can be to stop this spreading.

Friday 4 December- Panto Day (oh yes it is) On Friday 4 December, we will be having our pantomime, “Handsome and Dettol”, in school.

Children are able to come to school wearing a festive top to enter into the spirit of the event! To avoid any confusion, it is just a festive top but with the rest of our normal uniform.

If someone in your household receives results or develops symptoms over the weekend, please do let us know. If you need to contact school at the weekend, our main email address is monitored throughout and the information will be passed on to the relevant people. On Wednesday 2 December, children can come into school in sporty or festive clothing so they are ready to complete their North Pole Run and meet our very special guests!

Christmas Performances Throughout the week commencing 7 December we will be having individual class Christmas performances. On the day of their performance, children will be able to come into school in a festive top or jumper (with the rest of their uniform). We will let you know the day each class will perform shortly.

Christmas Lunch The rota for the Christmas lunches in the final week are as follows: On Tuesday 15 December, Reception class, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6 will have their Christmas lunch. The remaining years will have packed lunches in their classroom.

On Wednesday 16 December, Year 3,Year 4 and Year 5 will have their Christmas lunch. The remaining years will have packed lunches in their classroom.

Hot Chocolate and Cake Each week, the Midday Assistants select children for their good manners and for displaying school values at lunchtime to join Mrs Parkinson for hot chocolate and cake. Mrs Parkinson loves meeting the children and chatting with them while they enjoy their treats but unfortunately, she is not able to do this due to distancing guidelines so instead of joining Mrs Parkinson in her office, we are sending a hot chocolate and cake pack home with your child for them to enjoy at their leisure!

Christmas Decorations Request Thank you to everyone who has donated decorations, it is very much appreciated. We can still take any last minute donations so if you do have any, please let us know.

School Lunches and Snacks Over the past few weeks, we have had an increased number of debts on Parentpay that are not being cleared. School lunches and snacks should be paid for at the time they are taken and funds should be on their account ready.

Please could you add funds when you receive the text notifications that your account has gone overdue or if you are having difficulties settling the account, please do let us know. Foodbank Donations Don’t forget that we will be continuing to collect any items for our local Foodbank and our trolley will be at the front of school.

Trek to Lapland Update Please could you return your mile trackers, sponsor forms and money to the class teacher on Monday 30 November so that we can count up the total miles we have covered. We will then work out if we have hit our target or if we need to do more miles for our ‘Run to the North Pole’ on Wednesday. Thank you!

Christmas Bargain Items Thank you to everyone who has purchased Christmas items from the PFA through the Facebook pages—so far they have raised an amazing £340. If anyone would still like any items, please go to the school or PFA Facebook pages and you will find full details in our post.

Spooky Spoons Winners Thank you to everyone who entered the Spooky Spoon competition—we were very impressed with all of the designs, which made it very difficult to choose between them. Well done to the winners below—their prize will be passed onto them on Monday.

Christmas Cards With Your Child’s Drawing This year we have changed the company that we use to produce the Christmas cards containing a picture made by your child. Children designed their Christmas cards and they were sent directly to the Christmas card company. The proofs are now available to view via an online portal and full details on how to access this will be posted on Seesaw. You can place orders and pay online with direct to door shipping!
