100 Years of Disney Celebration
The Disney Whole School Performance is next week on Thursday 13 July. The gates will open at 1 pm for the performances to start at 1.15 pm. The performances are expected to last for the whole afternoon. If the performances finish early, parents/carers will be able to collect their child to take home but please note that the children will be returning to their classrooms to collect their belongings first, before being dismissed from the playground.
The PFA will be providing cakes and drinks (they would ask for a donation rather than selling items).
Unfortunately, if it rains, we will not be able to go ahead with the event and will have to rearrange itwe will be in touch about this nearer the time.
The teachers have sent out details for the dress code for each performance on Seesaw. If costumes are elaborate and not appropriate for a full day in school, please could children come to school in their PE kit (fully named) and bring their costume (named) in a bag, so they can change into it later. Thank you!
Makers Market
Y5 swimming lesson (no Y4)
2.30 pm Makers Market
Each term, the children have been working hard on different projects that we have shared with you over the year such as our Museum and Information Centres. Our final project is our Makers Market. This half term, children have been working hard and having fun producing products during Enrichment to sell at our Makers Market. The Makers Market is planned for Friday 14 July and will start at 2.30 pm so it would be lovely if you would be able to come along, browse the stalls and buy some of the products.
The gates will open at 2.15 pm. If you would like to, you can collect your child from 2-.15 - 2.25 pm from their classroom door, sign them out so that you have responsibility for your child (this would be their pick up from school and they wouldn't come back into school) so that you can enjoy the market together and leave when you have finished browsing. Our Year 6 children will be running the stalls and will be picked up at the end of the day as usual.

If you would like to pick up your child early, you MUST let us know by completing this form by Monday 10 July at the latest https://forms.office.com/e/ UwZ1JQydtQ
Please note, there will be no Year 4 swimming on Friday 14 July because of the Makers Market.

The world-famous Wimbledon tennis tournament is currently underway and will conclude on Sunday 16 July. Experienced player, Venus Williams, made her 24th appearance in the singles draw at Wimbledon after the 43-year-old American was given a wild card entry. Venus is a five-time Wimbledon singles champion and reached the final in 2017, 20 years after her first appearance there.

Wild cards are awarded to players whose ranking is not high enough for them to qualify automatically. The last time Venus won the title at Wimbledon was 15 years ago!
Venus Williams’ career has had numerous highs and lows, with her most recent being knocked out in this year’s first round, but she has always persevered.
Things to talk about at home:
* Ask adults at home what they know about the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Have you watched any of it together this year?

* Share your experience of winning and losing with someone at home and ask them to share theirs. Think about how each feels and what you can learn from both situations.
From September, we will have new storage for coats and bookbags in school and will only have room for bags with a maximum dimension of Height: 31cm. Width: 37cm. Depth: 8cm (the size of the school bookbag) - please ensure that bags are no larger than these dimensions as there will not be any room to store them.
Please remember that school uniform, including PE kit, should not be branded in any way, shoes should be black and trainers should be black or white with no embellishments and any PE tops should be plain with no branding, the PE t-shirt should be round necked. Many shops have reasonably priced items at this time of year and there is free school uniform from the Warrington Foodbank shop in Golden Square near to Primark.
Year 6 Make £5 Grow Project
Year 6 would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us with our 'Make £5 Grow' project.
Thank you to the PFA for their initial donation of £160, so that each child had £5 to use to help the pot to grow. We have counted up our takings and are very pleased to announce that our grand total is £535.25, which means a profit of £375.25 !
Thank you to everyone who has placed an order, the PFA for supporting this project and our families for helping us to buy the items we needed.
Well done Year 6 for your imaginative products, great sales and teamwork - we are proud of what you have achieved!
Penketh Carnival - Saturday 8 July 2023
The PFA have a stall at the Penketh Carnival at Greystone Recreation Ground tomorrow and we would love to see you there!
It starts at 12 pm and finishes at 4 pm.
On the stall, there will be …

a raffle for a preloved Carrera Bike
We hope you can come along and support us! The monies raised are going towards our project pot to fund the Sensory Garden.
Grant success
This week we have secured 2 grants totalling £2535 in funding. These minimal effort resources are vital for us as a charity to fulfill our mission statement- improve and advance the learning resources and opportunities of all children at Park Road School. If your work place offers grants for registered charities or groups then please speak to us about how you can help us.
Events and Clubs Planning
We are in the planning stages of our events and clubs for next year. If you have any ideas or suggestions of any after school clubs or events which you would like to see us deliver, please send them over to kellyhpfa@gmail.com

Thank you for your ongoing support - we couldn’t have achieved everything we have without you!
Have a lovely weekend
