Covid Reporting It is important that you inform school if your child develops Covid symptoms on Saturday 19 or Sunday 20 December and the results of any tests, as we will need to conduct track and trace to ensure that individuals are contacted and instructed to self-isolate. Please let us know via the main school office email address parkroad_primary@omegamat.co.uk as it will be monitored regularly over this time.

Happy Christmas We would like to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe Christmas. We’ve had a very challenging year and we hope that next year will be better for us all.

It has been lovely to see the school community pulling together and supporting each other through these strange times. Thank you for taking on board all of the changes including the new dropping off and picking up procedures—after a bit of fine tuning, it is now working very smoothly.

We are sure you will join us in thanking all of our staff for their hard work, adapting to new routines, work patterns and ways of working to ensure we are keeping our children safe and happy.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to the PFA for their hard work supporting school and arranging amazing events for the children to enjoy.

I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the years I have spent here at our school, in our community. I will be sad to leave and I will never forget this time! Each and every one of your children, has made my experience here truly unforgettable and for that I can’t thank you enough. It has been my absolute pleasure and I am so lucky to have been able to work with them. They have made my time so valuable as well as memorable, I will hold onto so much: my after school clubs, sports trips/competitions, residentials, PE lessons, dinner time activities, school trips, class support, lockdown sports videos, Christmas/Summer fayres...

Your child has certainly shaped my future and I am genuinely so thankful for the experiences I’ve had with the children here at Park Road.

I will miss you all!

Mr Capper :) Shine Gymnastic Competition Last week, Blossom competed in the 'Shine' Gymnastics competition. She competed virtually against other gymnasts all the way from Mexico!

Blossom told Miss Akinyemi how much she loved competing on the beam and jumping off.

She was also so excited to find out how she had done at the end.

Blossom did a fantastic job and we are very proud of her! What a fantastic opportunity.

Hot Chocolate and Cake Each week, the Midday Assistants select children for their good manners and for displaying school values at lunchtime to join Mrs Parkinson for hot chocolate and cake. Mrs Parkinson loves meeting the children and chatting with them while they enjoy their treats but unfortunately, she is not able to do this due to distancing guidelines so instead of joining Mrs Parkinson in her office, we are sending a hot chocolate and cake pack home with your child for them to enjoy at their leisure!

STEM Returners Have you taken a career break from an engineering, scientific or technical sector and wish to return? Are you working below your experience in a different sector? Do you have an engineering, science or technical degree that you aren’t using? Do you just wish to transfer sectors but don’t have any experience? If so this could be the opportunity for you! After running many returner programmes where 100% of returners were offered permanent roles, we are currently sourcing candidates for the first Mott MacDonald ‘STEM Returners’ programme, a 13 week, fully paid and supported return to work programme starting in April 2021 in Altrincham.

All candidates will also have the opportunity to obtain a permanent role at the end of the programme. No career break is too long, register to return to STEM today! On behalf of the PFA, I would like to thank all the families and the community for their overwhelming support over the past few months.

We have managed to raise, through fundraising and grants, an astonishing amount of more than £4000, this will go a huge way to help us hit our target.
