Quite simply, we aim to be a great school at the heart of this community

Message from the Headteacher

Ormskirk School is on a journey of rapid and sustained improvement with wonderful children and fantastic staff, ready to welcome you into our school. At our school your child will experience a balance between a high commitment to academic progress, excellent pastoral care and a genuine belief that every child can succeed. Our priority is to get to know each of our children for their own special uniqueness, making them feel proud to belong to our school and community. Building and maintaining strong relationships with our parents is essential to this and we also take our role at the heart of the Ormskirk community seriously.

We are firmly committed to a rapid programme of significant improvement and are determined to provide the very best for each and every one of our children. We are driven to provide a nurturing environment which is dedicated to developing

happy, respectful and independent children. We are extremely passionate about ensuring the successful development of each individual child. We believe that every child deserves to feel safe and well supported, experience the joy of learning and the pride that follows their hard work and success.

One of our core priorities is community spirit and a family feel; our children are supported by key staff, and will be challenged to be the very best they can be. Getting the balance right between academic and pastoral support is vital to us. At Ormskirk, we believe that every child should be treated as we would want our own children to be. One of our core priorities is community spirit and a family feel; our children are supported by key staff, and will be challenged to be the very best they can be. We are delighted to welcome you and your child to our Ormskirk family.

Proud to be a school in the Endeavour Learning Trust family

Vision for the School in the Trust

We are a proud family of schools bonded by our Trust vision, priorities and values. We work as one team in school, across our Trust and with our wider partners for the benefit of everyone in our Trust, our families and the communities we serve.

We foster authentic, positive relationships which are based on the foundations of respect, listening, kindness, support and constructive challenge. We are approachable, open and honest.

Equity of opportunity is central to our practice and we will invest time, training and resources so that everyone is included and has the chance to be their very best.

We are firmly committed to recognising, celebrating and investing in the individuality of all our children and young people, each staff member across the Trust and the distinct ethos and identity of each of our schools.

We believe in the promise of each individual across the Trust and will ensure we inspire, support and challenge in proportionate measure, so that we all thrive and are able to achieve our own individual best potential.

Dedicated Support

At Ormskirk School we are fully committed to making sure that every child is supported and treated as an individual. We will get to know who they are and what helps them to learn and be happy. Each of our children belong to a tutor group and a house which is their extended family in school, ensuring they feel a part of the whole school community. Upon entry to school, students will be placed in a tutor group and one of our four houses; April Ashley, Rosa Parks, Emmeline Pankhurst, and Alan Turing. Each year group is led by an enthusiastic and energetic Head of Year.

Heads of Year work closely with their team of personal tutors. Tracking progress allows us to provide bespoke support through academic mentoring, whether this be during morning tutorials or through small group/ individual work, ensuring all students are successful in their studies and enjoy their time in school. In addition, every year group has a dedicated Assistant Head of Year, who is specifically devoted to providing pastoral, welfare and behavioural support within their house. We have a dedicated Primary Liaison, to work with parents and teachers of Year 6 pupils to ensure maximum support for a positive transition to Ormskirk School.
