Welcome to year 8 for parents and pupils

July 2023

Dear Parent and of course year 8

This is a short welcome to you all for another exciting chapter in your journey through Oakfield. Year 8 is not a lot different to year 7 except you will now be the oldest pupils in the school who will I have no doubt set a good example for the pupils in lower years. One of the main differences will be the timing of lunch which will now be at 1.35pm apart from this the school day will remain the same.

I am really looking forward to helping everyone complete their final year here.

There will of course be some preparation for the transition to year 9 at Frome College. Tutors and I are all here to provide support and help throughout the year and towards this transition.

There is a lot of information on our website and of course your tutor or I can be contacted if needed to help with any queries.

Have a lovely summer and looking forward to welcoming you back next year
