Edition No 32 22/23, May 2023
On Tuesday this week our Year 8s visited the University of Bath for a campus tour of their fantastic facilities and interactive exercises with University Ambassadors. FABULOUS FOOTBALL !!!
A fantastic morning of football in the sunshine was had by our Year 5 and 6 teams who travelled to play in the local schools tournament on the penultimate day of term 5. Teams competed in a round robin format with both Year 5 and both Year 6 teams progressing to the finals. After many fiercely contested games, Year 5 were triumphant winning their final to be crowned champions, with Year 6 losing their final in a close penalty shoot-out.
All teams showed great teamwork and represented the academy impeccably, playing a very high standard of football. Congratulations to Dan and Errol for picking up awards for best saves seen during the tournament. A big well done also to Mr Ward for all of his efforts in coaching KS2 pupils this year. Mr Fowler

The Why Gallery and We Hear You would like to say a huge thank you to the Oakfield pupils that contributed their wonderful artwork for the 6x6 fundraising exhibition.
The exhibition raised just over £1700 which will go to help We Hear You (Why) provide free, professional counselling for people affected by cancer and other life threatening diseases. Huge thanks too to Mel Day for running the workshops and to all the family members that came down to see the exhibition. If you brought work at the exhibition it's ready to collect from The Why Gallery on Stony Street. For those that missed the exhibition we have a selection of 6x6 pieces in The Why Gallery if you’d like to come down and have a look!'
