I would like to offer congratulations to all in 6S who took the time over Easter to participate in the Anderson Shelter competition. There was an outstanding field of shelters built which had taken in to account their learning in history as well as some incredible creativity demonstrated. Some of the materials used to build the shelters were outstanding!
Congratulations to Bronwen and Ruben who were worthy winners due to their extra efforts and taking the time to construct some wonderful models. Well done!

YEAR 7 MENDIP NETBALL TOURNAMENT
After 2 terms of commitment and hard work, a team of Year 7 pupils represented Oakfield at The Year 7 Mendip Netball Tournament. Oakfield Academy hosted the tournament with 4 other schools coming to play.
The weather wasn't Spring like which made the task much more difficult for all. The team did Oakfield proud and continued on until the rain became torrential, so the last game was abandoned. Despite the rain, the team scored lots of goals. They lost their first match to Selwood 2-5, then had a 1-1 draw with Fairlands but ended on a high with a 7-3 win against Crispin. The Year 7 team came 3rd overall on goal difference.
It was great experience for all and something to build on next year. The team deserve huge congratulations - Maddie Harris, Freya Long, Ruby Madge, Lily Shirvell, Tillie-Rose Smith, Luna Psa-Treadway, Lily Vicary, Niamh Webster, and Yolanda Welsh. MISS PULLEN
Congratulations to Nancy Lyall from 5N who is the first pupil in Year 5 to be awarded their Gold Badge!
If your child has false nails fitted during the holidays—please kindly ensure they are removed before they come back to school—they are not allowed in school under any circumstances. Thank you.
ATTENTION YEARS SIX, SEVEN AND EIGHT
Following the recent school photograph day, the deadline for placing orders with free postage is Tuesday 2nd May. Thank you.
Sadly our team's basketball journey is over for this season, losing 22-6 .
We came up against a very strong Clifton high school team who play together at club level and we're effectively the next level up in terms of experience.
All of our pupils have made tremendous progress this year and to compete so well against such a strong team shows what strides they have made. With Frome now starting a basketball team, our players will hopefully continue to enjoy the game as they leave us in the summer.
