WEST END IN SCHOOLS It's been an exciting couple of days for KS2 as they have experienced professional Drama workshops with the 'West End in Schools' company. Pupils have been taken on a theatrical journey exploring the characters behind the story of 'A Christmas Carol'.

It's been a wonderful opportunity to build on their fantastic learning in Drama so far this term including getting 'into role', creating a 'tableau' as well as experiencing the moral dilemma of the 'conscience alley'. Thank you to all of the KS2 staff, Mr Millard and Mr Page for their support and assistance in helping these workshops happen safely as well as preparing and encouraging all our students so that they could get the most out of this experience.

The safety and wellbeing of our students, and staff, continues to be our absolute priority and we have worked tirelessly over the last few months to have all safety measures in place so that we can continue to provide your child with an excellent education in a safe environment.

Please could you remind your child to bring a facemask to school and discuss the importance of wearing one during transition times. We will remind them too whilst giving consideration to those few pupils who are exempt from wearing a facemask.

Members of our flexible Learning Group carried out a study on volcanoes recently and made models.

It is with great sadness that we bid a fond farewell to our Bikeability Instructor Janet Crabb. Janet has been training our pupils for a number of years, but has finally decided to hang up her cycle helmet! We wish her a very happy future, she will be greatly missed.

December 2020 Dear Parent, From 1st January 2021 the price of a paid set school meal (main and dessert) will be increasing by 5p.

This is due to an increase in food costs and the current economic climate. We hope you will continue to choose Edwards and Ward for your child’s meal, and please note there will be a new menu in place after February half-term 2021.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the last year particularly during the pandemic. We all look forward to serving your children in the New Year, especially in some schools where service can resume as normal once restrictions around social distancing are lifted. In the meantime we wish you a very safe and Happy Christmas and New Year.

Thank you to everyone who sent in the wonderful Gingerbread entries, it was really good to see your creations and we hope that you had fun making them and then eating them! Mrs Nightingale and Ms Peat are really sad that we were not able to set up and enjoy the gingerbread first hand, but it is good to know that wqe have potential entrants for next year’s competition! We have decided that we will not do winners and runners-up, but you will all receive a certificate and some merits for your entry. Merry Christmas.
