Y1 - Autumn Term - Abacus Learn & Active Learn Primary

Year 1 Autumn - Number, Place Value, Addition & Subtraction, Representing Numbers & Measuring Weekly maths consolidation games allocated to pupils to access at home through the ‘Game of the Week’ theme.

Abacus workbook pages 1-46 to complete independently after whole class teaching, small group work, practical maths and maths interventions.

Pupils identified as working towards greater depth work in a mastery team to complete a weekly challenge task. This term these tasks have included problem solving, reasoning and understanding larger numbers.

Counting with 1:1 correspondence & recognising numerals.

By the end of this term children have gained a basic understanding of mathematical concepts and are beginning to work with increasing independence. Assessment papers are completed in small groups and scores are recorded to track progress and address common misconceptions.

Y2 - Autumn Term - Abacus Learn & Active Learn Primary

Year 2 Autumn - Number, Place Value, Addition & Subtraction, Shape, Position & Direction, Mental Multiplication & Division.

All Maths lessons begin with a Flashback 4. This aids retrieval practice to embed prior learning into the long term memory. These are completed on mini whiteboards throughout the Autumn Term.
