Class: Year 1
Half-term: Autumn 1 (Monday 11th September – Monday 16th October)

Theme: Toys Old and New!
Instructions:
• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.
• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school.
• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.
• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.
• We expect you to complete each homework to the best of your ability.

The 5 Senses
Can you go into your garden and use all five of your senses? What can you hear, smell, touch, see and taste? In some gardens you might be able to do all 5!
Reading Book
Read your school reading book with an adult. Draw a picture of your favourite part of the story and write a sentence.
Number Fun!
Write the numbers 1-10 in numbers and words, e.g. one, two, three etc. You can use whatever media you like, chalk, paint, pens, paper!
Favourite Toy
Draw a picture and write a sentence about your favourite toy. Can you tell me why it is your favourite?
Recite a Nursery Rhyme
Can you think of a nursery rhyme, learn it and perform it? Can you add actions too? Record your video and upload it to Seesaw.
Doubles
Can you learn your doubles to 5?
Double 1 is 2
Double 2 is 4
Double 3 is 6
Double 4 is 8
Double 5 is 10
Puppet Show
Do you have any puppets at home? Or can you make one? Then perform a puppet show! Record it and upload it to Seesaw.
Family Tree
Can you create a family portrait? Use any materials you like, paint, playdough, pencils, collage!
The Human Body
Can you draw a picture of a human body and label the body parts?
Autumn Walk
As the weather starts to change, go for an autumn walk, can you find any signs of autumn and bring them into school? (conkers, leaves, pine cones etc)
Get Creative
This term we are focussing on perfecting the art skills we learnt in Reception. So, you create a piece of artwork using any skills or materials you like.
Children’s choice
Have your own homework idea linked to our topic or what we have been learning about. Extra points for creativity.

• Learn to count forwards and backwards to 20
• Learn to write numbers to 20.
• Learn doubles to 5

English Activities
• Practise letter formation

• Keep practicing our new phonics sounds
• Read your school book as often as you can
• Learn to read and spell phase 2 tricky words
