Class: Year 1
Half-term: Summer 1 (Monday 3rd June– Monday 15th July)
Theme: The Great Outdoors
Instructions:
• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.
• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school.
• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.
• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.
• We expect you to complete each homework to the best of your ability.

Money
Play shops. Make a shop, put a price on things and sell them to family. Add up how much they have spent. Write them a receipt What was their total? What coins would they need to pay you?
What vehicles have you travelled in?
Draw a picture of all the different types of vehicles you have been in.
Robots
Draw a picture of a robot. Use adjectives to describe what your robot is like.
Model Car
Make a model of your favourite car. It can be an old car or a new car.
Time
Draw a clock. What numbers go on a clock? What does the small hand point to? What does the big hand point to? Practice telling the time.
Phonics Check
With the sounds in the front cover of your reading books make sentences using them. Say them out loud first. Then use your phonics to help you spell each word correctly.
What is your favourite fiction book.
Which book is your favourite? Who are the characters in the story? Where is the story set? What happens in the story?
Robots
Design and make your own robot.
Summer Walk
Go on a summer walk. Write directions for your summer walk. Include forward, backwards, left and right.
Numbers from 50 – 100 Practice counting up to 100. Get an adult to give you a number between 50 and 100 and tell them what is 1 more than that number and 1 less than that number.
Growing Food
How many fruits and vegetables do you know? Draw a picture of them. Do they grow in the ground or on a plant?
Children’s choice
Have your own homework idea linked to our topic or what we have been learning about. Extra points for creativity.

Maths Activities
• Learn to tell the time.
• Learn direction. Left, right, forwards and backwards.
• Look at numbers to 50. Parent say a number for your child to write down.
English Activities
• Practise handwriting.
• Write stories.
• Read non-fiction books and learn/write facts.
• Read poems and write your own.
• Read and spell the words for year 1.
