Half-term: Autumn 1 (Monday 11th September to Monday 16th October)

Theme: Back to school

Instructions:

• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.

• Hand in through Seesaw or bring in to school.

• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.

• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.

• We expect you to complete each homework to the best of your ability.

Creative autumn colours

Create your own piece of artwork, using the stimulus of Autumn landscapes, in the style of David Hockney. Use collage, paint or even digital media to create it.

Once upon a holiday

Write a diary entry recounting all the different things you have done in the summer holidays.

Warrior Weaponry

Research the weapons and strategies off Viking armies. How did they raid and invade so successfully? Then, create your own Viking shield.

Ring of Fire Research information on Volcanoes. For example, what are the largest volcanoes, biggest eruptions, where are they located and how often do they erupt?

Who am I?

Create a profile all about you. Include things such as: likes, dislikes, in school, outside of school etc. Use what we have learnt in PSHE to think about how you are responsible.

Revolutionary scientists

Research and record information about Sir Isaac Newton in an interesting way. Think about what made him influential in science and what he was famous for.

When was it?

Produce an accurate timeline of the Viking/Anglo-Saxon History events leading up to the battle of hastings. Can you also add significant leaders on there as well?

Cross it out

Create your own crossword or wordsearch puzzle, using Autumn as a topic. Make sure your clues are challenging.

Starting with the letter ‘a’, list a word to do with Space Exploration for each letter of the alphabet. E.g., a= asteroid

Get outside!

Learn a new skill and film or bring evidence into school. For example; juggle, skip, ride a bike

Create a poster any topic of your choice to share something new.
