English:
In English, we are using a range of books that allow us to explore stories in familiar places. We will use the texts to develop our writing skills. We will focus on spelling, grammar and punctuation this half term.
Maths:
In Maths this half term, we will be learning about Time, Charts and diagrams and directions. We will also revisit some of the topics from the year ready for next year.
Science:
Our science units this term is Living things & their habitats.We will be looking at a variety of habitats and investigatingwhat lives in each different habitat.We will look at why different plants and animals need different conditionsto survive.
Year 2 Half-term 6: ‘Castles’
PE:
Habitat-Arctic Animal- Polar Bear
Art & Design: In Art this term we will continue our work on Andy Goldsworthy. We will focus on Collageand Sculpting.
In PE this half term we have 2 sessions of PE lead by our PE Coach. We are focussing on the 7 fundamental skills.
Music:
Our question this half term is ‘How Does Music Teach us About Looking After Our Planet?
Geography: In geography this half term we will be looking at different kinds of maps . We will explore the countries and capital cities in the United Kingdom. We will also look at the flags to go with these countries.
We will go on a magical journey learning new songs to perform and using the musical instruments.
Computing:
This half terms unit of work is called Unit 2.7 making music. We will use the program on Purple Mash.
We will also finish our previous unit of Unit 2.6 Creating Pictures.
