Instructions:
• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.
• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school before the deadline.
• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.
• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.

Multiplication Practice
It is important that all children devote homework time to learning the times table facts for all the timetables up to and including the twelve times table. They need to be fluent and have very quick recall of these facts.
Timetable Rock stars is great for this as the children can access independently.
ESSENTIAL TASK
Amazing Habitats.
Find out about an endangered animal and their habitat then create a top trumps game of the different animals you have learned about including their “endangered” rating.
Build it.
Construct a model of an Anglo-Saxon house remember to include the thatched roof, and outdoor pen for animals.
Protect the Planet
Have a think about how you can help protect planet earth. Is there anything that you and your family could do at home to make a difference?
Daring Debate
Debate and discuss whether King Alfred the Great was great and if so, what made him? Create a poster with your arguments for or against.
Poetry Challenge
Create a calligram poem with an environmental theme. For example, you could write a poem about deforestation in the shape of a tree, or ocean pollution in the shape of a fish.
Diary Details
Imagine you have travelled back to 500AD. Write a diary of your adventures and experiences in Anglo Saxon Britain.
Get Cooking!
Research some favourite Anglo-Saxon recipes and have a go at cooking them.
Historical interview!
What questions would you ask and Anglo Saxon in an interview? Choose any Anglo Saxon you would wish to find out more about and write a playscript of the interview. You could even film yourself performing it!
Create it.
Design a shield with your own personal heraldry on the front. Use geometrical shapes to create the patterns.
Imagine it
Draw and explain about 6 things you would want to take with you if you travelled back in time to the Anglo-Saxon era.
Interpretations
Create a message written in runes (this will have to be interpreted!)

• Practice using the written methods for addition and subtraction of four digit numbers – including exchanges
• Practice using the written methods for multiplication and division.
English Activities
• Practise handwriting patterns for cursive font.
• Write your own stories.
• Read non-fiction books and learn/write facts.
• Read poems and write your own.
• Read and spell the words for year 4
