• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.

• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school.

• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.

• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.

Fact file

Choose a country in the United Kingdom and create a fact file with interesting facts you have found.

Plant a seed

Plant a seed at home. Check on the plant regularly to see if it is growing. Keep a record of the lengths of the flowers stem!

Choose an animal

Choose your favourite animal. Think about that animals’ habitat and explain the different ways that the animal has ADAPTED to suit its habitat.

Create a habitat for an animal or insect. Create a habitat for an animal/insect of your choice. Can you tell me what that animal needs to survive?

Story setting

In writing we are creating stories with a familiar setting. Can you write a story about a time you have been somewhere? This could be the park? The shop? On holiday?

Research a famous landmark in the United Kingdom Research a famous landmark in the United Kingdom. You can build a model of this place or draw a picture.

Draw a Plant and label the features.

Can you draw/create a plant. Add labels to explain what each part is and does.

Charts

Can you create a block chart of your family/friends favourite colours?

Judaism

In RE we will be learning about Judaism. Can you research facts about Judaism and write them to share with the class.

What can you remember?

In the Autumn term we looked at life cycles. In year 2 we have some butterflies. Can you draw me a life cycle of a butterfly? Try and use the scientific language to go with it!

Create a sculpture in the style of Andy Goldsworthy

Children’s choice

Have your own homework idea linked to our topic or what we have been learning about. Extra points for creativity.

Maths Activities

• Practise telling the time to o’clock and half past.

• Practise counting in 2s, 5s, 10s. Can you count forwards and backwards?

English Activities

• Practise handwriting.

• Write stories.

• Read and spell the words for year 1 and year 2.

• Read 3x a week.

• Share your library book with your family. Remember you can change how often you need.
