Lomeshaye Life Welcome back to school everyone! Last week was another great week here at Lomeshaye with lots of fun and exciting things happening. Why not read on to find out some more about our great first week back? A huge well done to everyone that attended school over the last week, where our whole school attendance figure was 95.7%. Congratulations to everyone that got to school this week, however we just dipped below our whole school target in the first week of term. I hope that next week brings with it some greater attendance news. Year 3 Visit to York— Last week all of our Year 3 classes had a wonderful adventure. They went to York to visit the Viking centre called Jorvik. The Jorvik Viking Centre is a museum and visitor attraction, containing lifelike mannequins and life-size dioramas depicting Viking life in the city. Visitors are taken through the dioramas in small carriages equipped with speakers. The children had a fantastic day.
Year 3 and 4 Twinning Day— 3 Maple and 4 Chestnut had an amazing twinning day experience with pupils from Wheatley Lane Primary School on Friday. The children worked together with their friends to create art work on how plastic waste is killing sea turtles. The second session was about everyone being unique and each person created a combined ocean scene each designing their own fish and seaweed. World Book Day— Just a reminder that Thursday 5th March is World Book Day. Pupils have been given Harry Potter activities to complete and on the day the whole school can dress up as a character from a Harry Potter story and celebrate this special day with an afternoon full of wonderful book related activities.
