Lomeshaye Life The end of term has finally arrived. I do hope everyone has a good break and enjoys some great weather over the Easter Holidays. Just a reminder for our pupils in Year 6, this holiday we have 2 days (Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th) of Easter School. Please be at school for 8am for breakfast so that lessons can start on time, and ensure that someone knows that you will be home just after 2pm. Well done to everyone that attended school this week. Our attendance figures have remained good even though there have been lots of illnesses. The slightly sad news for the whole school is that we HAVE NOT MET OUR TARGET, with 95.2% of the school attending. Hopefully this will improve after the holidays! Library and Dance Workshops— over the last couple of weeks Miss Payne and her wonderful group of Lomeshaye Librarians have been to the local library in Nelson to find out more about what happens there and to start taking over the library as a space for them. Take a look at some of these great pictures that they have taken while exploring the library.

Burnley Community Kitchen—calling all Lomeshaye pupils! We know you are so great at raising money and supporting charities, so here is a new one for you. The Burnley Community Kitchen is being supported by a local Mosque, to provide food for a food bank and help for local homeless people. We would like your help to support them. If you could save two or three tins of food over the Easter break that would equate to over 720 items of food that could be used in the food bank. Just think about the great work that food could do for people in our local community who are not so fortunate. The class that beings the most food for our food bank charity will be awarded a super prize. So come on and get involved in this superb charity event. Monday 22nd April—SCHOOL IS CLOSED Tuesday 23rd April—School reopens, St. Georges Day Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri—Bikeability, Year 5 Wed & Thurs—Cross Country Event Out of School Friday 26th April—School Attendance Raffle, Houspoint Winners Afternoon.
