Lomeshaye Life Welcome back to another great half term at Lomeshaye. Some pupils are starting new learning themes for the coming term while others are continuing with the themes that they started last half term. This is a busy term for all of our Year 6 SATs pupils as they are all getting into the business end of the year and SATs. Best of luck to all of those pupils. Well done to everyone who made it to school this week. Our attendance figures have remained positive and the wonderful news for the whole school is that we HAVE MET OUR TARGET, with 97.2% of the school attending. Congratulations and lets see if this can get even higher next week. Disturbing games and messages online— As a school we are urging parents to check and monitor what your child is accessing online. In this day and age, the constantly evolving digital world means a steady influx of new apps and games that can become very persuasive, especially to young people, which can be hard for parents to keep track of. Police have appealed to parents not to simply focus on the newest of games, but urging them to:  Ensure they know what their children can access online.  Ensure children understand the importance of not giving personal information to anyone they do not know.  Tell their children no-one has the right to make them do anything that they do no want to do.  Use parental controls to keep children safe. If adults are concerned or have questions on how to approach the subject with their children they can contact the NSPCC Helpline on 0800 800 5000. Any child who is worried about their activity in apps or online games can contact Childline on 0800 1111. World Book Afternoon— On 7th March the whole school will be involved with World Book Afternoon activities. Pupils can attend school on Thursday wearing their own book related dress up clothes. There will be a prize given in each class for the best dressed pupil.
