Learning for all… Happy New Year!

Even though it has been a short Spring Term for Libanus pupils, staff and families, we have been very busy. We also have a lot to celebrate, including our first residential trip of the year, for our Year 3 pupils, to Cardiff.

The Spring Term has been a term of learning for all members of staff, not just Mrs Crandon. Staff have been researching, planning and delivering their own training during staff meetings, INSET days and twilight sessions

Some of these sessions included developing wellbeing, digital skills, music and literacy knowledge.

Llongyfarchiadau to our wonderful Mrs Crandon Whilst our children have been learning, Mrs Crandon has also been working hard to develop her knowledge by completing her Masters We are so proud of you! Congratulations

Community links

Engaging with our community to develop our pupils sense of belonging and knowledge of the world around them is a key element of teaching and learning in Libanus.During this term we have also had visits from Sam, our local librarian, Hayley, a member of our local Principality branch and Dr Mark Smith, our favourite Nuclear Fushion Astrophysicist .

Senedd Member, Rhiannon Passmore, came to visit us this term, having heard we won the School of the Year award last summer She was very impressed with the school and commented on how wonderfully polite our pupils are. We were also visited by Natasha Ashgha MS who also works at the Senedd, to speak with our Year 3 pupils prior to their Senedd visit.

Family Support

We are often asked the question ''What makes Libanus special?' and the answer is the commitment from our pupils, staff and families. We are always blown away by the support our families provide our pupils The commitment to show up to school events such as our annual Easter hat parades, open classrooms, concerts, fun days and learning showcases are what gives our pupils the safe, supportive environment to develop their confidence and grow their roots and wings.

Thank you families!

Pupil Voice

Children in Libanus have been using their voices this term, collaborating with our cluster of schools during a Rights of the Child meeting, and discussing all things health related during our govenors meeting What informed and confident children we have!
