Request from Tim Warren (Headteachers) Two years ago Tim discussed a proposal from a recruitment company which would have resulted in an ALSSIT wide agreement to recruit teachers from Ireland to cover shortage subjects. He has now been approached again by the same company and he may be able to negotiate something just for those schools that can commit to recruiting some teachers from Ireland in September 2020. There is an oversupply of teachers in Ireland qualifying each year. If you would be interested in being part of such an initiative please respond to Tim with an indication of how many teachers you might be interested in recruiting from Ireland for September 2020. If numbers are sufficient to proceed Tim will enter discussions with appropriate partners. Please respond to Tim’s email before Friday 25th January with your level of your interest. If a reply isn’t receive we will assume you are not interested.
