NPQ Spring 2021: Applications now open until 15th January 2021 The window is now open for Spring 2021 NPQ programmes.

Colleagues can submit their application by the 15th January to secure their place, remembering the following: Applicants completing their programme application form will be asked to identify a delivery partner from a drop down list, and then to enter that partner’s ‘partner allocation code’.

Summary of Tutor Trust’s offer Online and plans for the National Tutoring Programme Online Tutoring and Free Laptops Since the start of lockdown we have successfully and safely piloted online tutoring, in partnership with the Education Endowment Foundation. Tutor Trust remains an official partner of the Education Endowment Foundation, as one of their 'Promising Projects' (and the only one based in the North of England). School and pupil feedback have been extremely positive.

Online tutoring is here to stay at Tutor Trust, both for pupils who prefer this form of learning and as a back-up option if pupil bubbles or whole year groups have to go into isolation. This service is now essential to our mission of ‘transforming lives through tutoring’. In addition, through our business connections, we have access to a significant supply of good quality laptops for pupils who need help getting online at home (free of charge). As you may have seen on Granada Reports, some pupils have already benefitted from this.

National Tutoring Programme Tutor Trust is highly likely to be a major delivery partner of the £350m National Tutoring Programme, which is also being run by our friends at the Education Endowment Foundation. Indeed, a lot of the thinking behind the National Tutoring Programme has been shaped by Tutor Trust because we have Newsletter—Edition 1 Winter 2015such a strong evidence base for the quality and impact of our work (not least our randomised control trial). We now have 9 qualified teachers on our staff, including two former Secondary Heads.

All being well, from Monday 2nd November we should be able to offer our services to schools for just half the usual cost, thanks to the NTP subsidies. Although the financial details are yet to be confirmed, we believe we will be able to offer schools a 15-hour programme of tutoring for less than £100 per pupil per subject.

All our usual tutoring services would be available to schools under the NTP, either in person or online or a mix of the two: Tutoring for Years 5-11 Pupils of any ability Maths, English or Science Tutoring on a 1:3 tutor to pupil ratio Ideally, at least 80% of tutees should be PP, LAC or in AP/at risk of exclusion

NB: Because demand for tutors is likely to outstrip supply from November onwards, we are encouraging schools to contact Tutor Trust ASAP to register their interest.

Recap on what Tutor Trust can offer and our usual charges A record number of schools have already booked in tutors for the autumn and spring terms. Many tutoring programmes have already begun. Support for Y6, Y7 and Y11 is particularly popular.

Here is a summary of how we work and the charges we make. These prices are heavily subsidised by the fundraising that Tutor Trust does as a charity. Plus, we hope these charges will be halved through the NTP from November 2nd onwards.

Registering for Online Zoom Sessions As all our autumn term meetings have moved to virtual Zoom sessions, it is particularly important that all colleagues register to attend or send apologies using our online booking forms. This will ensure that colleagues receive the correct Zoom link to join each session and will allow us to quickly identify them when they join using their school's generic Zoom account .

If they do not register, then the meeting may be delayed as we will need to identify each colleague to accurately record the minutes and in the case of HoD meetings, to allocate them to the correct exam board ‘break out’ session.
