Archdiocese of Liverpool Secondary School Improvement Trust Events, External Courses and Grant Opportunities Fully Funded NPQ Programmes: Deadline extended until Friday 20th September!

As you are aware the DfE have confirmed that scholarship funding will continue for the National Professional Qualifications for school leadership (NPQs). All Trust schools can access this funding and we urge colleagues to take full advantage of this opportunity.

This year we will be running our own Catholic NPQH group. If you feel ready to apply, please register as below and contact v.borlase@rcaolp.co.uk so that we can monitor uptake with Best Practice Network.

Candidates can register online at www.outstandingleaders.org Registration for the September intake closes on Friday 20th September.

Secondary Maths Departments Annual CPD Events NW3 Maths Hub is pleased to offer an academic year of Teaching and Learning CPD sessions for your whole department throughout 2019/20.

Half termly sessions will include the following ‘guest speakers’ from the world of maths in addition to providing an opportunity to discuss and reflect on session ideas with colleagues from within your own departments and from other settings.

For further information about the first two sessions please see the flyer below. We will continue to advertise the sessions as more dates are released. 1 Winter 2015 Newsletter—Edition Sessions will take place each at Rainford High Technology College, Higher Ln, Rainford, Saint Helens WA11 8NY, between 4 and 6pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided on arrival.

Mental Health & Well-Being Conference 10th October 2019 St Helens TSA are pleased to announce our 1st Mental Health and Well-Being Conference. We would like to invite all schools to join us for a inspiring day of CPD. North West Online Safety Conference - 17th October 2019 (One Free Place for all schools) Knowsley City Learning Centres will be hosting the 1st North West Online Safety Conference and we are offering ALL schools one free place.

This will be an informative and engaging event. The event will take place on Thursday 17th October 2019 Newsletter—Edition 1 Winter 2015 (9am – 3.50pm) at Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre. Tea/Coffee will be provided throughout the day as well as lunch.

We are able to provide all schools with one free place, but places will be limited so we do recommend early registration. AQA Curriculum Clinic Please find below an invitation to have AQA visit your school. If this is of interest please contact Ben Galvin, Relationship Manager (North West), directly at bgalvin@aqa.org.uk Dear Colleague, My name is Ben Galvin and I am your AQA Relationship Manager. My role is to provide face to face support to your centre throughout the academic year. I would like to come in and meet with you in early September where we could discuss some or all of the following: • • • • • •

Feedback on the 2019 exams Refresher training on the Enhanced Results Analysis (ERA) tool Awarding and grade boundaries Refresher on Enquiries about Results (EAR) processes ahead of results day Support for the 2019/20 academic year Support with switching for any subjects where you might be considering moving to AQA.

If the above would be of interest then I would love to come in and meet with you. I would usually run this as a Curriculum Clinic, which is a free of charge service, where I can meet with you initially and then with Subject Heads individually for approximately half an hour each on a drop-in basis. If you are interested, please get in touch and suggest a date.
