Recovery Curriculum Working Party Meetings Dear Colleagues, Following the success of our Blended Working Party, we will be putting a Working Party together to focus on the Recovery Curriculum. Our aim is to have a number of sub groups working to produce working documents, protocols, policies based around research that would be of use to your school. Our plan is to have our first meeting on Friday 26th February starting at 8.00 a.m. where we will look at the research and determine the working groups. Subsequent meetings, all starting at 8.00 a.m., will take place on: Thursday 4th March Thursday 11th March Thursday 18th March

Any additional meetings will be added if this is felt necessary. We feel that Curriculum and Pastoral leads would bring experience of both curriculum catch up as well as 1 focusing the social and emotional needs of students.

Merseyside Police Volunteer Cadet Scheme I am making contact with information regarding the Merseyside Police Volunteer Cadet Scheme. As you may be aware, our current Cadet Programme has been suspended due to Covid. Due to the uncertainty of events at present, and how quickly things can change, I wanted to take this chance to get in touch and let you know that if all goes well, we are hoping to open our Cadet Recruitment in April with a view to starting the scheme in September 2021.

The changes will start with us taking on students who were born between 01/09/03 – 31/08/05 (we would normally only take students born between 01/09/03 – 31/08/04). This is to give more students the chance to take part when we are able to restart it.

We are also looking to start in September 2021 where it will run for 18 months rather than just under a year. The idea behind this is to negate any students missing out on sessions should there be a delay in starting the scheme because of the pandemic.

As you can imagine, things are still in the very early stages of organisation but I wanted to make sure to contact you as soon as possible to let your students 1know should they wish to join, they will be able to do Newsletter—Edition Winter 2015 so. We are looking to start a recruitment drive for the new intake in April and will have information on the Merseyside Police website a little closer to April 2021.

The impact of COVID-19 on school staff since March has been overwhelming and the workload demands are not easing up. We will be exploring how to support and promote staff wellbeing within schools, academies and MATs during these unprecedented times; sharing successes from other schools and MATs, and new ideas from The Art Project on how to use the arts as a tool for positive mental health.

A forum for secondary leaders to share their experiences, challenges and successes with fellow peers. Key topics include TBC The impact of COVID-19, school closures and disrupted learning has had an overwhelming impact on pupil wellbeing and mental health. We will be discussing the impact and tools to support children through this challenging period in time, with special guests from Thrive to discuss use of the Thrive Approach to support and promote positive mental health and resilience A forum for SEN leaders to share their experiences, challenges and successes with fellow peers. High Achieving Pupils (HAPs) Working Group Information Hope Academy have created a HAPs Working Group page on their website to help schools who are researching ideas to support their HAPS cohorts.
