Organisational Information Learning at home: The first priority is always reading (because, once you can read well, you are then able to access all other learning). All children will read individually to an adult at least once per fortnight. The book that they have read, along with its page numbers, will be recorded in your child’s school diary on that day’s date. Your child will be given the opportunity to change their reading book regularly. We encourage children to read at home every day. Children must ensure that their reading book and school diary are in school every day. The next two priorities are to ensure spellings and times tables are learnt each week. Spellings should be practised at home as frequently as needed. Following that, every effort needs to be spent trying to REMEMBER the information in the subject organisers that have been sent home. The subject organisers are a summary of your child’s learning and your child is expected to remember and recall this learning at various points throughout the year (probably through a halftermly quiz). How your children remembers this learning is up to you… - Some children will go through the organiser with you (or by themselves). - You could ask questions to see if your child remembers what’s in their subject organiser. - Some parents/children will think of an activity linked to the subject organiser (eg. Mind map, model, A-Z, poem, mnemonic, diary, story, photos, drawing, wordsearch, etc), but this is entirely up to you! Anything produced doesn’t have to be bought into school, because the purpose is to help your child remember.
PE: PE will take place every Friday. Please send children into school in their PE kits (during the Autumn term) Class Assembly Date: Friday 30th April 9.15am
