Mr Tallan GILL Head
It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all players, coaches, officials and supporters to our school for what promises to be an exceptional day of rugby. We are honoured to host this festival and thrilled to welcome such a diverse and talented group of teams to our grounds.
Rugby is more than just a sport it teaches values such as teamwork, discipline, respect and resilience, which we hold dear at our school. Whether in triumph or defeat, it is the spirit of determination, camaraderie and sportsmanship that truly defines the game.
I encourage all participants to carry these values onto the pitch today and make the most of this opportunity to showcase your skills and passion for the sport
To the players, I wish you every success. Play with heart, fairness and determination, but above all, enjoy the experience. Win or lose, today is about more than the result it is about the friendships, memories and life lessons that rugby offers us all.
I hope you all enjoy a day of rugby at its finest. Welcome, once again, and may the best team prevail.
It gives me great pleasure to see KGS host the Centenary Rugby Festival, a special occasion where we celebrate a century of rugby excellence at Kirkham Grammar School We are thrilled to welcome teams from across the country, from as far afield as Gloucestershire and Norfolk, as well as those from our more local schools This festival represents not only a love for the game but a shared commitment to developing the next generation of rugby players.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the teachers and coaches who have dedicated countless hours to preparing their teams. Your hard work behind the scenes, from training sessions to match-day preparations, ensures that today will be a true celebration of youth rugby.
To the players, I wish you all the very best. Today is your chance to demonstrate not only your skill and determination but also the values that make rugby such a special sport: teamwork, respect and sportsmanship Whether it is your first match or one of many, I encourage you to take pride in your performance and enjoy the unique experience of playing in this tournament.
A final word of thanks must go to the officials, volunteers and supporters who help make this event possible. Your contribution is invaluable and we are grateful for your support
Best of luck to all the teams!
