Kirkburton Middle School Parents’ Bulletin - 18 November 2022 Remembrance Day We will remember them - we came together in an act of remembrance for the fallen. Pupils read poems and we played the last post. Wreaths made in the Craft Club were laid. The children were a credit to us observing the two minute silence with dignity. Many thanks also to Aruba A, Emilia S, Jacob W and Jack C who went down to the Cenotaph, Memorial Gardens which is at the side of Kirkburton Church, to join in the act of Remembrance there. A wreath was laid on behalf of pupils and staff at our school. Miss Kaye played the Last Post and Reveille.

Children in Need Day The children enjoyed a non-uniform day today in order to raise funds for Children in Need. We are delighted to inform you that the total so far is just over £390 with a few more donations still to come. A group of year 8 students have been making handmade badges, biscuits and keyrings to raise money for Children in Need. The fundraising was entirely their own idea and pupils gave up most of their lunchtimes to make and sell the handmade items. They showed excellent Communication, enterprise and fundraising skills. A special mention to Evie Portman who showed excellent leadership skills and was excellent at delegating jobs! Well done to the following Y8 students, you should all be extremely proud of yourselves! You raised a whopping £154.85. Faye H, Evie P, Archie S, Harry B, Freya H, Zac M, James T, Isabelle P and Florence H.

INSET Day Just to remind you that Friday 25 November is an INSET day and the school will be closed to pupils on that day.
