Highlights

Year 6 had a fabulous end of year trip to the Pleasure beach this week!
We had a very successful community Coffee Morning – this was part of Year 1 and 2’s Bishop’s Young Leaders Award. Our SATs results came in and we are very proud of all of our Year 6 pupils! Pupils in Reception to Year 5 spent a day in their September class getting to know their new teacher.
Bowling Club took part in their final tournament last night and all played very well! Elijah and Ralph were the winners!
The whole school attendance for this week is 96.26%, with Elm Class achieving 99%

We won first prize in the business section of the Scarecrow Competition!
We had several pupils win prizes in the Gala Art Competition!

Leavers’ Prom Night/Disco
We hope you can join us at St. Oswald’s tonight from 6-8:30pm. It will be great to celebrate the end of the school year with as many of our families as possible.
Mrs Crompton’s Celebration Day – Tuesday 18th July
If you are joining us, we will be having a special assembly at 2pm; refreshments for guests at 3pm and then lots of free activities for the children between 3:30-5:30pm. Pupils must be accompanied by an adult.
If you have not returned your leaf template, we need this on Monday please.
Leavers’ Service – Friday 14th July 9am
Our Leavers’ Service will be at St. Oswald’s Church at 9am. All pupils should meet at church between 8:50-8:55am unless they are in Breakfast Club. Breakfast Club pupils will be walked down to church at 8:30am
We would love parents to join us for this service. We will also be awarding a range of different trophies to pupils through school. The pupils will walk back to school after the service
Driving up to school/Road Safety:
Please can we ask that parents do not drive up the hill to drop children off at school. I know parking is limited but where possible, please park further away and walk up the hill or drop your child off in a safe place at the bottom of the hill.
I am also currently working with the road safety team on the safety of our pupils when they are walking to and from school. Please can you make sure that when you are dropping off or picking up, you think about the following:
· Do not park over a pavement so pedestrians cannot pass by safely.
· Do not park to close to a junction which would make it difficult for pedestrians to get a clear view of the oncoming traffic.
· Please do not park on the footpath marked on the narrow part of Park Lane that has been marked out to allow students from our school and St. Aidan’s to walk safely along this stretch of road
All of our pupils have road safety training but we know that due to the location of our school, it can be dangerous on the nearby roads We all need to work together to keep our pupils safe.
Friday 21st July - End of Day:
As is the usual tradition, the whole school will be outside from 1:20pm to clap our Year 6 pupils out of school. Parents are welcome to join us. We finish at 1:30pm and there will be no After-School Club.
