Supporting Pupils’ Learning

It is really important that as parents, you support your child’s learning at home. This is how they develop confidence, improve their essential basic skills and learn routines for setting time aside to complete tasks at home.

You can help by: listening to your child read; sharing stories; supporting them with the tasks on their extended learning menu and practising any additional tasks the teachers recommend e.g. learning times tables facts, key words or spellings. Children who receive regular support and encouragement at home make more progress in school. Please make sure you regularly send your child’s Reading Record Book into school so the teachers can monitor home reading and accelerate reading progress.

Disco – Wednesday 22nd

May 5-6:30pm

This event is now open for booking on Parent Pay. If you would like to use AfterSchool Club between 3:30-5pm, we have a special price of £5 per child but prebooking is essential. There will be a tuck shop selling sweets, drinks, crisps and glow-sticks

May Day Event

On Monday there will be a family fun day on Preesall Park from 12-4pm. We have some pupils who will be performing a May pole dance so if you are free, go along and enjoy the activities

Year 6 Fund-raising events

Every year we fund-raise for our Year 6 pupils to have an end of year day out, purchasing Leavers’ hoodies and to pay for the Leavers’ Prom/Disco night. The parents have done an amazing job this year and we have almost raised the amount needed. There are 2 events that we need to draw your attention to – the Car Boot at Wyre Villa this weekend and the ‘Stuff Your Furry Friend’ workshop which will be in school on 17th May. Please support these events if you can.

Cheer Squad

Our Cheer Squad are now busy rehearsing for their forthcoming performance at Preesall and Knott-End Gala. Thanks to Preesall Town Council and Stakepool Stores who have both made generous donations, we are now able to buy our own bespoke cheer costumes and matching poms!

Today we announced the highest bidder and winner of a Manchester United shirt, signed by Rashford!
