The whole school attendance for this week is 93.5%, with Maple Class achieving 97.5%.

We are delighted to announce that Willow Class are taking part in the 8-week Fishkeeper Fry Project run by Maidenhead Aquatics. Yesterday, the aquarium arrived in the classroom, to much excitement and then each week something new will be added to the tank.

The children will be learning how to look after the aquarium and its inhabitants.

We have had several new pupils join us recently and it is wonderful to see how welcoming our children are to others.

One of the strengths of our school is the positive relationships that exist between pupils of different ages.

The views from our school this week have been stunning!

Support at home: We regularly mention how much more progress children make in their learning if they are supported by parents at home. Encouraging them to complete their extended learning tasks and listening to them read as often as possible would really help us in school. Children in Year 1 take the national phonics screener in June and children in Year 4 take a multiplication screener around the same time. We want to give them the best chance possible so additional practise in these areas is essential.

If your child is in either of these year groups, please try to spend a bit of extra time each week on phonics/reading or multiplication. The teachers will be more than happy to suggest any additional resources.

As you are already aware, holidays in term time will not be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances and can incur a penalty from the local authority. If you are planning on taking your child/children out of school, please complete a holiday form and avoid the school assessment periods.

Stay and Play sessions

School Disco

If you have a baby or toddler, come along to After the success of our school disco in our Thursday morning Stay and Play December, we have decided to make this sessions. It is an informal session where a regular fund-raising activity. The next there are toys and activities for your child one will be on Wednesday 7th February and an opportunity for you to talk to other from 5:30-7:00pm. Bookings will be open parents and have a brew. There is no charge on Parent Pay from Monday 29th and parking is available on the playground. January.

If you know anyone locally who would benefit from coming along, please let them know. Everyone is welcome.

Elmer’s Big Parade

All Age Worship

We are now in the process of painting our Elmer the elephant, who we have called Charity, ready for collection at the end of the month. Mrs Pollard will update you on progress each week on our school Facebook page. We have already raised £400 of the £850 requested. The next Brian House fund-raiser will be a Chocolate Bingo after the half-term holiday (date and more information to follow soon!) We will shortly be collecting Easter eggs for prizes through a nonuniform donation day.

St. Oswald’s Church now have a regular all age worship on the first Sunday of each month, which is a child-friendly service. We would love some of our families to attend. The next one will be Sunday 5th February at 10:30am. I will be attending this service so if your child would like to come along with me, I am happy for them to be dropped off and picked up afterwards. Just drop me an email.
