They provide additional opportunities to gain a qualification, learn a new skill, go on visits to destinations in the UK and abroad and enhance CVs and applications to university or employment.
The Sixth Form College Enrichment Programme offers a wide range of activities and opportunities that enable you to gain useful qualifications and skills, develop new hobbies, or pursue a current interest.
All students take part in our enrichment activities which provide additional opportunities outside of the classroom and help develop students as young adults. The opportunities offered can help enhance CVs and are extremely valuable when applying to University or for Apprenticeships or Employment.
Earn the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award: You can choose to complete the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and no previous experience is necessary. The Sixth Form College is a Duke of Edinburgh Centre specialising in the delivery of Gold Award programmes including all required training and preparation for expeditions. You will take part in two expeditions in Snowdonia, a practice expedition at the end of the Summer Term (allowing you to develop skills learned in the classroom) and a final expedition during the Autumn Term.
Volunteer: Our Enrichment Officer at The Sixth Form College can help you find a volunteering opportunity whether it is to help you gain experience for a future career or if you have a particular interest and want to give something back.
Learn a New Skill and Gain Qualifications: There are a wide range of courses that can help you to develop a useful and practical skill such as British Sign Language or learning a new musical instrument, such as the Guitar. At the same time you can gain valuable qualifications with St John Ambulance or Food Safety in Catering.
