Anti-Bullying Week 2025

This week, children put on their odd socks to celebrate to begin Anti-Bulling Week 2025. Our theme was Power for Good, which focused on empowering everyone to do something positive in order to counter the harm and hurt that bullying can cause. The week began with a special assembly where we discussed how each of us can use our power for good to speak up, support others, and help stop bullying in all its forms. Throughout the week, children took part in live lessons and class discussions to learn more about different types of bullying, and the importance of kindness and respect in our school community.

Behaviour Curriculum Update

Lesson 8: children suggested and co-constructed tools/strategies to support their emotional regulation.

Here they are: HERE

For further information, please ask your child or your child’s class teacher. They are new, and it will take time to embed as children learn how/when to use them to support their regulation.

They are part of an ongoing review, with children, as part of PSHE and therefore subject to change.

Bryon Highlights:

This week, we have been learning all about the number three. The children enjoyed finding three items for the Three Bears and retelling the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears. They also enjoyed making a bed for Goldilocks and building a new chair for Baby Bear.

Yarlett Highlights:

This week in Yarlett Class we were very excited to start our new Art topic all about discovering lines, inspired by the amazing artists Klee and Miró. We explored how different types of lines can show movement, feelings, and imagination, and we even began creating our own line drawings in the style of these artists. In English, the children have been working really hard on making sure their sentences include capital letters and full stops and it’s wonderful to see how much their writing is improving!

Blabey Highlights:

This week in Blabey Class, we have enjoyed tinkering with code in Scratch. Children have played with programming blocks and began to explore what we could make our sprites do. We have learned how to make our sprites change colour and size, move across the screen and play sounds.

We have also enjoyed playing hockey in PE this week, dribbling and passing a ball and learning how to hold our sticks effectively.

Morpurgo Highlights:

This week, Morpurgo Class have been focusing on creating descriptive settings in their writing. We have practised slowing down our writing and carefully selecting well-chosen verbs, adverbs, and adjectives to make our descriptions vivid and engaging for the reader. Using the scaffolds and examples provided, it was wonderful to see the children building confidence in their writing and taking pride in crafting imaginative, detailed story openings. Well done, Morpurgo.
