Antony Highlights:
Antony Class have begun exploring fairy tales through a range of activities. The children wrote captions, built a carriage for Cinderella, designed ball gowns with intricate details, and made their own crowns fit for a prince. The Year 1 children also practised joining ideas using "and" to connect two ideas in their writing. Inspired by Sports Day, the children worked on developing their throwing technique using foam javelins. It was lovely to see how much their technique and ability to throw for distance improved in just one lesson.
Wenzel Highlights:
It was a pleasure to see Wenzel showing good readiness as they learnt how to run relays in PE. They had to be poised to receive the baton then run on to the next person and they were quicker with each practice. We have started our new Computing unit about the International Space Station and were intrigued by the images of floating food and the sleeping bags secured for safety in zero gravity! The children were able to reflect on why digital technology, such as sensors, would be needed to help the scientists survive so far away from Earth.

Larwood Highlights:
In Larwood Class this week, we have enjoyed starting our Science unit on electricity by learning about where our electricity comes from, how we store it and the dangers that it poses. Some excellent questions from the children led us on a journey of discovery: finding out the various uses of electricity around school and our homes; learning which countries provide us with the most energy; considering how big or small batteries could be and uncovering what the inside of a battery looks like!
Rauf Highlights:
The highlight for the children has undoubtedly been swimming! They were so excited to begin their lesson and it was a joy to see their beaming faces, as they headed off to the pool. Even after just one session, it was wonderful to hear how each child made progress - whether by going underwater for the first time or by refining their stroke technique. There's no doubt they’re eagerly looking forward to their next session.
