Yo en el mundo / Me in the world:
• Say and spell some of the different countries and the relative capital cities in the Spanish-speaking world and find them on a map.
• Say and write about some key celebrations in the Spanish speaking world and some of the differences in terms of geography, historical sites and cultural facts.
Children will begin by discussing the work of artists that appreciate different artistic styles and by the end of the unit they will create a sculpture to express themselves in a literal or symbolic way. After planning, children will reflect on their creative decisions, suggesting ways to represent memories through imagery, shapes and colours and following the creation of their sculpture they will evaluate their own execution.
