Science: Electricity
This term, we will learn about electrical appliances and construct simple electrical circuits, identifying the key components such as cells, bulbs, wires, and switches. Children will recognise common conductors and insulators, understanding that metals are good conductors.
PE: We will continue to host the Chance to Shine project, enhancing Year Four pupils' cricket skills, alongside sessions led West Lancashire Sports coaches.

English: This term, we will be developing our skills as writers with a focus on narrative writing, using a range of visual literacy resources to inspire and support our learning. In reading, we will explore a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts, including those linked to our topic on electricity, as well as texts from a range of different genres.
Our grammar work will focus on revisiting and strengthening key skills we have previously learned.
Music:
During this half term, Year 4 will focus on the structure of songs. In this final half term, two classes will continue their brass or woodwind journey by reading music and learning how to play their instruments. The other two classes will explore the structure of popular music and learn how to play a popular song on the keyboard.
Art
& Design and Design Technology: Mindful Moments
In Design Technology lessons, children will explore what is meant by mindfulness and write design criteria to fulfil a brief to develop a programmed product for timing a mindful moment.

Geography: What are Rivers and How Are They Formed?
Children will learn to:
• Understand the water cycle and where water is stored.
• Describe the three parts of a river’s journey.
• Identify key physical features of rivers.
• Locate major rivers around the world.
• Explore how people use rivers.
Computing: During computing lessons, children will learn how to explore the internet in a safe, informed, and respectful way.

RE: This term, we will explore questions such as:
• What can we learn from religions about right and wrong?
• How should we care for others and the world, and why does it matter?
Children will learn how different religions guide people in making choices and treating others with kindness and respect.
PSHE: A World Without Judgement
This term, children will learn about the importance of respect, kindness, and inclusion.
